The Briefing

Bev briefs the athletes on the courses, and points out some hazards to watch for.

Swim Start

It's a wet start, so wade in to the start position.

Nearly ready

The final few get into position.

Safety Boat

Keeping an eye out for anyone in distress. Just float on your back and raise your hand.

Short Course

Ready for a 350m swim.

Short Course start

Only 350m swim to go......then 15km bike and 3km run.

Long Course

750m swim.

Splash

Two laps around the buoys, then 20km bike and 5km run.

Daz & Andreas

Daz (K1) first out after 750m, just ahead of Andreas (Cyprus Triathlon Federation).

Exit the water

Now it's a sprint up the beach, and the fourth discipline (transition), who's gonna change first and be out on the bike leg?

Amy & Mum

Will Mum beat Amy up the beach?

Short course swimmer.

Finishing the short course swim.

Wendy

It was turbulent out there, you did well in difficult conditions.

Gaz

Careful does it, its a rocky bottom.

Cold?

It was bit I'm all warmed up now.

Wet Suits are for wimps

Not everyone was feeling the coldness of the Med.

Sarah

Quick exit up the beach.

Big Smile

Always a smile for the camera.

Bev

Transition time from swim to bike.

Bev

It's a race to the mount line for the start of the 20km bike ride.

Ozzy

This bloke is just getting better and better.

Adjust

Not everyone has a smooth transition.

More leave transition

The mount line is just at the end of the path.

Ahmet

A visitor from North Cyprus runs out of transition.

Haldane

Out K1 member from Denmark.

Bay Road

Take a good look, this is part of the run route.

Quiet roads

On a Sunday, this early you have the roads to yourself.

Daz

Coming back for transition to run.

Good use of tri bars

It was a blustery day, so tri bars keep you aerodynamic.

Ahmet

Finishing the 20km ride.

Andri

Coming in after the 10km ride out to TPMH and back.

Andreas

Still giving chase to Daz.

Smudge

Down low on the tri bars.

Ozzy

Shaking off the legs, ready for the run.

Dave

On holiday? from the U.K.

Wendy

Just back from the EKO round about to finish her 15km bike ride.

Heidi

From Canada, and enjoying a mornings sport with us.

Last bit now

Soon be over.

Haldane

Finally got his vest pulled down.

More upright

Everyone has their own best way of tackling the bike ride.

Kev

The 'boss' comes on in.

Sarah

Put on some comfy bike shorts in transition for the bike ride.

Trisha

Cycles in, whilst Gaz is out on his run.

Webmaster

That's a grimace, not a smile.

Bev & Andreas

Race off into the Bondhu on the outward leg of the 5km run.

Daz

Is he going the wrong way? No just coming back from the half way turning point.

Paul 'Bones' Jones

Back into Triathlon after a short break in the U.K.

Bev & Andreas

Seems like Bev held Andreas at bay all of the way.

Cem

'Gunner' comes in to finish as another of our guests from North Cyprus.

Bones

Just a little further.

Dave

Nice shades.

Flying

So fast her feet don't touch the ground.

Daz

Nobody to catch him. He's in good form for the World Long Distance championships in July.

Kev

Looking good.

Cheeky

Who's this then with the tongue out?

Out on the run

Leaving the transition path.

Webmaster

Didn't need the hat shade, but I think it looks good.

Wendy

Approaching the first turn off into the Bondhu.

Water point

More important as the season moves on.

Lonely?

Where is everyone?

Smudge

Powering on until the end.

Kev

Nearly at the finish.

Ahmet

Turns into the final approaches.

Huseyin

Another of our visitors from North Cyprus, puts in a very good effort on the Sprint course.

Me and my shadow

Sun's getting higher in the sky.

Ozzy

His feet WILL touch the ground at the finish, 4th overall wasn't it Oz?

Who's too old?

It's the taking part that counts. Did you set or beat a personal best?

Long road

Bay road is long and straight(ish)

Trisha

Soon be at the finish.

Mount/Dismount?

Coming into finish past the bike mount/dismount markings.

Haldane

He'll turn left soon (his left) for the finish line.

Daz

Takes the winning position.

Andri

From the Cyprus Triathlon Federation and sporting her Australian colours.

Heidi

Comes home, did you beat hubby Paul?

Wendy

She's crossed the finish line, and is entitled to a walk now.

Webmaster

Takes on some fluids at the finish.

Timekeepers

Fend of some athletes that want to dispute their times......no chance.

Post Race

The inevitable post race chat on how we did individually.

Freshen up

The showers not only help rinse the beach off you before the bike ride, but can freshen you up after the race.
